Privacy Statement

I am committed to protecting your privacy and we take our responsibilities regarding the security of customer information very seriously. This privacy statement explains what personal data I (Jamie Glossop T/A City Counselling Nottingham) collect about you, how and why I use it, who I disclose it to, and how I protect your privacy.

This privacy policy sets out how I use and protect any information that you give us when you use this website or otherwise engage with me.

I am committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should I ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website or during counselling sessions, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy.

I may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes. This policy is effective from 24th May 2018.

What I collect

I May collect the following information from you:

  • Name, address, phone number and email address;
  • Background information about physical, mental and emotional well-being;
  • Detail of an emergency contact person;
  • Your ongoing circumstances.

What I do with the information I gather

I require this information to understand your needs and thereby provide you with the best possible service. I may take notes after our counselling sessions to enable me to focus on your concerns. The notes are confidential and anonymous. Your name will not appear on your notes, you will be allocated a number. Paperwork is stored in secure locked storage and notes are password protected when electronic.

Processing and handling the information I gather

I use certain carefully selected partners to help me process and handle information. This enables me to manage the data and information I gather in the safest and most efficient way, thereby helping me to offer you the best possible experience. I use Google as my email service provider and your name and email address will accordingly be handled and stored by them, in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Google, whenever I email you directly or you email me. If you contact me using the contact form on this website, your details will be handled and transferred to me by our website host, Yola, in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms. If you make an online or electronic payment to me, your payment and any details you provide as part of the transaction will be processed securely on my behalf by PayPal in accordance with their Privacy Policy and Terms. Otherwise, any handling and processing of data and information is conducted solely by me.

If you have counselling via Skype then the counselling session will be transmitted, and the necessary handling of digital data, by Skype in accordance with their privacy policy and terms and conditions.


I am committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, I and my data handling partners have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How I use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

I use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps me analyse data about web page traffic and improve my website in order to tailor it to customer needs. I only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help me provide you with a better website by enabling me to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives me access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with me.
